  • ThinkProgress  In response to the “severe budget cuts that would disproportionately target the poor and the hungry at home and abroad,” 28 Members of Congress are joining 35,000 Americans in former Congressman and Ambassador Tony Hall’s Hungerfast — an effort launched March 28 to demand that the budget deficit not be balanced on the backs of the vulnerable. In protest of “the severe cuts being proposed to poverty-focused international assistance programs” which “largely hurt women and girls globally” who represent “60 percent of the hungry worldwide,” 14 Democratic congresswomen will fast this week: Fasters are demanding that the budget deficit not be closed by slashing programs targeting the vulnerable at a time of economic distress. In particular, Women Thrive co-launched this effort to draw attention to the severe cuts being proposed to poverty-focused international assistance programs, which will largely hurt women and girls globally. Women are the majority of the poor and 60 percent of the hungry worldwide.[...]    ...   The women members fasting this week are Representatives Karen Bass (D-CA), Yvette Clarke (D-NY), Susan Davis (D-CA), Rosa DeLauro (D-CT), Donna Edwards (D-MD), Marcia Fudge (D-OH), Mazie Hirono (D-HI), Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX), Marcy Kaptur (D-OH), Barbara Lee (D-CA), Laura Richardson (D-CA), Jan Schakowsky (D-IL), Terri Sewell (D-AL), and Lynn Woolsey (D-CA).     ...   Rep. Marcia Fudge (D-OH) told ThinkProgress that, in these times, “many Americans are just hoping to be able to put food on the table.” “Republican cuts to programs that provide necessities to poor Americans, like Medicaid, Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), and SNAP, would devastate communities,” especially when “there’s a great need for them,” she said. “This fast is a small sacrifice to demonstrate my opposition to balancing our budget on the backs of the most vulnerable in our society.”
  • SEC Executive Compensation Report:  The federal securities laws require clear, concise and understandable disclosure about compensation paid to CEOs, CFOs and certain other high-ranking executive officers of public companies. Several types of documents that a company files with the Commission include information about the company's executive compensation policies and practices. You can locate information about executive pay in: (1) the company's annual proxy statement; (2) the company's annual report on Form 10-K; (3) registration statements filed by the company to register securities for sale to the public; and (4) the company’s current report on Form 8-K.   ...  The easiest place to look up information on executive pay is probably the annual proxy statement. Annual reports on Form 10-K and registration statements might simply refer you to the information in the annual proxy statement, rather than presenting the information directly. Click here for information on how to locate a company's annual proxy statement on the SEC's website.    ...   How can I obtain a copy of a company's annual proxy statement?  A company is required to file its annual proxy statement with the SEC no later than the date proxy materials are first sent or given to shareholders. You can see this filing by using the SEC's database, known as EDGAR. To access the EDGAR database, go to the SEC's web site - www.sec.gov - and find the section entitled "Filings and Forms (EDGAR)." Click on "Search for Company Filings." When you get to the screen entitled "Search EDGAR Database," click on "Companies and Other Filers." Then enter the name of the company and then click "Find Companies." Select the appropriate company to view its SEC filings.  To view the annual proxy statement, select the most recent filing that has the title "DEF 14A." It's called a "DEF 14A" because it's the "definitive," or final, proxy statement. "14A" refers to the fact that proxy statements are filed pursuant to Section 14(a) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934.  http://www.sec.gov/answers/proxyhtf.htm

According to his own website, Soros claims his support for the Solidarity labour movement in Poland, as well as the Czechoslovak human rights organization Charter 77, contributed to ending Soviet Union political dominance in those countries.[4] His funding and organization of Georgia's Rose Revolution was considered by Russian and Western observers to have been crucial to its success, although Soros said his role has been "greatly exaggerated." In the United States, he is known for having donated large sums of money in a failed effort to defeat President George W. Bush's bid for re-election in 2004. On BookTV, November 12, 2007, he said that he supports Barack Obama for the Democratic candidate in the 2008 election, but says that John Edwards, Hillary Clinton, or Joe Biden are all fine candidates, as well.  Soros is famously known for "breaking the Bank of England" on Black Wednesday in 1992. With an estimated current net worth of around $8.5 billion, he is ranked by Forbes as the 80th-richest person in the world.[1]

Soros Funding of Cultural Marxism

  • SmashCulturalMarxism In what will come as no surprise to many, prolific superjew George Soros, the compulsive funder of everything ‘progressive’, from black lives matter, the homosexual agenda, gender studies, open borders, EU election rigging NGOs and war in Ukraine, has a link to new Hollywood Nazi film ‘Imperium’. The inspiration for Jew Daniel Radcliffe’s character, Nate Foster, is former FBI man and film writer Michael German, who works for the ACLU and is a fellow at Soros funded left-wing policy institute The Brennan Center for Justice. The film, directed by Jew Daniel Ragussis, is not much different from other Hollywood Neo-Nazi movies. They take real world concerns and equate them with fanatical conspiracy theorists and mass murder. Although they do feature, it differs slightly in that they focus more on the well spoken, intelligent, family men rather than the usual knuckle dragging, alcoholic, inept skinheads the industry loves to promote. It’s a movie worth watching, but obviously to be taken with a pinch of salt. I wouldn’t recommend paying for it, though.

  • WND Book: Cultural Marxism-The Corruption of America ... First, you’ll get the acclaimed new DVD documentary, “Cultural Marxism.” Produced by James Jaeger and featuring Pat Buchanan, Congressman Ron Paul, G. Edward Griffin, Edwin Vieira and Ted Baehr, the 98-minute production shows how a group of Marxist theoreticians, calling themselves The Frankfurt School, successfully plotted the corruption and overthrow of non-Communist nations by systematically undermining their cultures. Called Cultural Marxism, its goal is the use of art, music, education and media to condition people to accept the essential elements of Marxism without identifying them as such. After a few generations of this conditioning, Marxism becomes the new reality without a violent revolution and even without awareness that a revolution has occurred. If you want to know how the nations of the world became increasingly Marxist in form, if not in name, here is the actual strategy that has been used. The film’s opening statement by Pat Buchanan prepares the viewer for what is to follow: “The United States has undergone a cultural, moral, and religious revolution. … We are two countries now. We are two countries morally, culturally, socially, and theologically. Cultural wars do not lend themselves to peaceful co-existence. One side prevails, or the other prevails. The truth is that, while we won the Cold War with political and economic Communism, we lost the war with cultural Marxism, which now is dominant. Those of us who are traditionalists, we are the counterculture.” (A $19.50 value, yours FREE – including shipping! – as WND’s gift for subscribing to Whistleblower.) MORE

  • Gilad Atzmon Yesterday the Brits voted against immigration. But leaving the EU (BREXIT) may not be the answer for their plight. Looking into the elements and ideologies that planted pro-immigration policies and multiculturalism may be the ultimate way forward. The demography of the referendum suggests that it is primarily the British working people who want to leave the EU. In the last four decades they have watched manufacturing dying out. They saw an economic bubble that left many of them impoverished and off the property ladder. But it wasn’t really the EU that caused all of it and leaving the EU may not improve things. Milton Friedman, who taught ‘free market’ philosophy to Margaret Thatcher, never lived in Brussels. Friedman believed in the service economy. He also believed that capitalism wasn’t just a great idea, it was also very good for the Jews. Goldman Sachs, George Soros and others who fecklessly destroy one country after another are also not part of the Brussels Government. The British vote was actually a vote against Goldman Sachs, Soros, Friedman and cultural Marxism, but most of them do not know it yet. Yesterday the Brits proved, once again, that they are a brave people. They made a decision that they understood could inflict some serious difficulties on their society. Knowing that, they marched into the Brexit with pride and I admire their courage. The Brits voted against immigration, banksters, the global economy, the City and the two parties that have facilitated this disaster for decades. However, the Brits failed to attack the root cause of the problem. Leaving the EU is not going to emancipate them. For Jewish oligarchy, the Brexit is a red alert. ‘Hands off’ would be the most clever strategy. Can they follow this humble advice? I doubt it. MORE

  • The Berean Watch Billionaire George Soros reportedly spent $30 million to support the BLM (Black Lives Matter) movement around the country dealing with the Ferguson event, which undoubtedly provided more support to help with the unrest related to the 2015 Baltimore event. For example, in Ferguson, Organization for Black Struggle (OBS) and Missourians Organizing for Reform and Empowerment are also two of the many similar organizations funded by Mr. Soros. The point being that the groups involved in protests which sometimes devolve into riots are heavily funded by powerful leftists. Furthermore, remember in the eyewitness account above, one of the repeated chants advocated anarchy. In reviewing videos of various BLM demonstrations, it is clear that Boston was not the only location where this kind of sentiment was expressed. It is evident that anarchy is one of the tools that elites like George Soros want to have in their arsenal. In other BLM demonstrations the chant “There is only one solution: revolution, revolution”, or sometimes “…communist revolution” were used. Is that what our culture wants or needs? Communist revolutions have been generally rather untidy, and invariably result in totalitarian, repressive governmental regimes. That may be what Mr. Soros and his ilk desire, but is that really the best our culture can come up with? It seems telling that Front Page Magazine recently described the BLM movement as essentially a reincarnation of the Black Panther movement, and “profoundly racist.” MORE

  • WMR George Soros hit with triple whammy
No sooner had global hedge fund tycoon and international troublemaker George Soros picked himself off the floor following Donald Trump's shock presidential election victory in the United States, he was staggered by two more presidential election routs in countries where he made huge investments in the defeated candidates.

In Bulgaria, a Trump-like political newcomer, Rumen Radev of the Socialist Party, defeated the Soros-backed and pro-EU and NATO presidential candidate Tsetska Tsacheva in a 59 to 36 percent final tally. Prime Minister Boyko Borissov of the GERB party immediately tendered his government's resignation. Although Soros and the Obama administration favored the GERB (Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria) candidate, Borissov demonstrated some independence by rejecting a Romanian proposal for NATO to establish a permanent Black Sea fleet to confront Russia. Radev promised during the campaign to seek closer ties with Russia, Bulgaria's historical ally and cultural twin. Radev opposes European Union sanctions on Russia, joining Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in favoring the dropping of the coercive economic measures by Brussels. In his acceptance speech in Sofia, Radev praised Trump's victory in the United States. During the campaign, Radev said Bulgaria would not become "Europe's migrant ghetto," rejecting EU quotas for its members to accept Muslim refugees from Syria, Iraq, and other war-torn countries.

There was more bad news for Soros in Moldova, which lies between Romania and Ukraine. The Socialist Party’s Igor Dodon defeated Maia Sandu of the Soros-backed Action and Solidarity party by 52 to 48 percent of the vote in Moldova's first direct popular election of its president. Moldova has been the scene of a number of Soros-financed color revolutions aimed at transforming the nation into a vassal of the EU and NATO and forcing the re-incorporation of the breakaway northern region of Transnistria, a republic where half the population is composed on ethnic Russians and which hosts a Russian military unit, the Operational Group of Russian Forces in Moldova, formerly the Soviet 14th Guards Army.

Dodon promised to scrap Moldova's trade agreement with the EU and join the Russian-backed Eurasian Economic Union, a counterweight to the EU. Dodon said his first foreign trip will be to Moscow to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Dodon appeared to be heading on a collision course with Moldova's anti-Russian and pro-EU prime minister,
Pavel Filip, who achieved power with Soros financial backing.

Soros-backed loser in Moldova, Maia Sandu [left]. And you're right, she does bear a resemblance to another Soros-backed loser, Huma Abedin [right]. Maybe the Soros factory should be retooled for blonds, instead.

Europe's Atlanticist and CIA-influenced organizations, ranging from the German Marshall Fund to the London School of Economics' European Politics and Policy website, are bemoaning Russia's success this past week and the stunning losses for NATO, the EU, and the machinations of Soros.

Austrian Freedom Party presidential candidate Norbert Hofer, who will face a Soros-backed pro-EU Green Party candidate in the Austria's December 4 election, has hailed Trump's victory as foretelling a better American relationship with Moscow. Hofer is expected to win and add his voice to the anti-EU and anti-migrant political surge now sweeping Europe in the wake of the United Kingdom's successful Brexit vote to leave the EU. December 4 is also the day Italians will vote in a referendum to change the Italian constitution to curb the powers of regional governments. Polls show the referendum going down to defeat. A "no" vote will also spell the end of the Democratic Party government of Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, who counted Barack Obama among his friends and who endorsed the candidacy of Hillary Clinton. The anti-EU Five Star Movement is gaining in opinion polls in Italy.
The embryonic Trump administration has signaled its support for the anti-EU and pro-Russian French National Front leader Marine Le Pen in next May's presidential election. A victory for the National Front would all but spell the end of the European Union and a, perhaps, fatal crippling of NATO. Another defeat for the EU, NATO, and Soros is the impending coalition government in Estonia that will include the pro-Russian Center Party. Estonia has served as a major base for Soros operatives who have engaged in anti-Russian provocations in Ukraine, Finland, and Belarus.
Excerpted from hacked Democratic National Committee donor list
The former U.S. ambassador to Finland, Bruce Oreck, a more than million dollar contributor to Obama and the Democrats and who has chosen to remain in Helsinki, posted the following on Facebook on election night: "Oh Fuck . . . Sitting here in DC in total, absolute shock. Looks like Trump will win, the Republicans will hold control of the House, the Senate and therefore also Supreme Court appointments. There are no words." There actually are two words for the Obama potty-mouthed diplomat and son of vaccum cleaner manufacturer David Oreck, "You suck!"

  • WMR They also point out that "orange" was used by the neocon political forces in Ukraine in the so-called "Orange Revolution" engineered by Washington-based think tanks and public relations firms in association with European-based entities funded by financier George Soros.
  • WMR At first it appeared that the Turkmen post-Niyazov political upheaval may have been the work of the same anti-Russian neo-con elements that engineered coups in Ukraine, Georgia, and Kyrgyzstan and attempted coups in Moldova and Uzbekistan. The early signs suggested that was the case. Exiled Turkmen opposition figures who have received support from neo-con sources as well as George Soros announced they would be returning to Turkmenistan. Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko, who achieved power with the help of a neo-con-inspired "Orange Revolution" and who is married to a leading neo-con from the Reagan administration, announced he would lead Ukraine's delegation to Niyazov's funeral in Ashgabat, the Turkmen capital.
  • Multi-billionaire and political philanthropist, George Soros, an avid supporter of the Democratic Party, would be among those uncomfortable with this idea. It is well known that Soros played a key role in the Asian Crisis of the 1990s, and the ‘coloured’ revolutions in former Soviet Republics. Now that India and China have opened their economies to globalisation, they could face similar risks. The Executive Intelligence Review feels Soros is the public face of Rothschild bankers. Soon after the Asia Crisis, Soros himself claimed: “If there was ever a man who would fit the stereotype of the Judeo-plutocratic Bolshevik Zionist world conspirator, it is me,” (Sydney Morning Herald interview, November 15, 1997).
  • Vanity Fair " Jeffrey  Sachs named Ruhiira a "Millennium Village," one of 79 villages in 10 African countries where his controversial theories on ending extreme poverty are being tested. He approaches alleviating poverty as if it were a rigorous scientific experiment, allocating exactly $110 per person each year for five years to implement a prescribed set of basic "interventions": fertilizer and high-yield seeds, clean water, rudimentary health care, basic education, mosquito bed nets, and a communication link to the outside world. The results are tested and monitored, his goal being to prove that the same scientific model can be used on a grand scale to save the lives of hundreds of millions of people trapped by poverty."
  • WMR's sources have reported that former Iranian Defense Minister Ali Reza Asghari, who disappeared on December 9, 2006 in Istanbul while on an "olive oil marketing" trip to Syria and Turkey, is being held against his will by U.S. intelligence in the Washington, DC area.  Asghari, who was apparently kidnapped in Istanbul by covert U.S. agents, with the approval of Turkey's intelligence service, is a retired Revolutionary Guards general. Espionage charges brought against three U.S.-Iranian citizens in Iran -- Haleh Esfandiari of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, Kian Tajbaksh of George Soros' Open Society Institute, and Pamaz Azima of the U.S.-government's Radio Farda -- may be a gambit to arrange for the exchange of the three Iranian-Americans for Asghari and other Iranians detained by U.S. forces in Iraq. Asghari's wife in Tehran, as well as the Iranian government, have repeatedly asked the Turkish embassy in Tehran for information about her husband. May 31, 2007 -- WMR's sources have reported that former Iranian Defense Minister Ali Reza Asghari, who disappeared on December 9, 2006 in Istanbul while on an "olive oil marketing" trip to Syria and Turkey, is being held against his will by U.S. intelligence in the Washington, DC area.
  • Wikipedia "....Kissinger soon lost faith in Halperin. A front page story in The New York Times on May 9, 1969, stated the United States had been bombing Cambodia, a neutral country. Kissinger immediately called Hoover to find out who might have leaked this information to the press. Hoover suggested Halperin and Kissinger agreed that was likely. That very day, the FBI began tapping Halperin's phones at Kissinger's direction. (Kissinger says nothing of this in his memoirs and mentions Halperin in passing about four times.) Halperin left the NSC in September 1969 after only nine months but the tapping continued until February 1971. Halperin was also placed on Nixon's Enemies List. ... He was a friend of Daniel Ellsberg. When Ellsberg was investigated in connection with the Pentagon Papers, suspicion fell on Halperin, who some Nixon aides believed had kept classified documents when he left government service. John Dean claimed that Jack Caulfield had told him of a plan to fire-bomb the Brookings Institution, Halperin's employer, to destroy Halperin's files.  ....    The recipient of numerous awards, Halperin also serves as the Senior Vice President and Director of Fellows at the Center for American Progress. He is Chairman of the Board of the Democracy Coalition Project. He is also the Chairman of the Board of the Health Privacy Project at Georgetown University. He serves on the boards of DATA and the Constitution Project (where he is also a member of the Liberty and Security Committee)[1], and is the chair of the Advisory Board of the Center for National Security Studies."

  • Common Dreams "Wal-Mart is the largest private employer in the world. Many of its US workers are so poorly paid that they must rely on food stamps and other forms of public assistance to get by. Such forms of government aid represent an indirect government subsidy to corporations whose business model does not include paying employees enough to live on. Worldwide, billions are gained by outsourcing service, production and manufacturing functions to workers who labor in sweatshop conditions in countries like China. The role of government policy in determining who has wealth and who does not continues to expand. During the recent debate on the bankruptcy bill, federal lawmakers refused to close the "asset protection trust" loophole increasingly used by millionaires and billionaires to shelter mansions and other assets from creditors in bankruptcy."

  • Common Dreams "Tax rates have fallen on upper income citizens and corporations worldwide. Fifty years ago in the United States, the highest marginal income tax rate was 91 percent; today it is 34 percent. As recently as 1979, taxes on capital gains from the sale of stock, real estate and businesses were 35 percent; today they are 15 percent. Corporate taxes as a percentage of the US economy have shrunk from 4.1 percent of Gross Domestic Product in 1965 to just 1.5 percent in 2002. While corporate taxes have declined throughout the world, they have plummeted in the United States, leaving only Iceland among industrialized countries with a lower corporate tax burden."

  • WMR June 1-2, 2008 -- UPDATED 1X --George Soros and controlling the message from the LeftMulti-billionaire funder of "progressive" causes, George Soros, likes the message from the progressive Left, as long as he can control it. WMR has recently discovered that a number of journalists funded by Soros have practiced a form of journalism that can only be described as smothering stories to ensure they do not extend beyond that which is deemed permissible by Soros and his globalist-oriented denizens.  ...   What irks Soros and his bought-and-paid for journalists in the mainstream and "alternative" media is WMR's relentless investigation of the Russian-Israeli-neocon criminal syndicate and its pervasiveness in many of the political scandals in the United States and abroad. Whether it is the attacks of 9/11, the stolen U.S. presidential election of 2004, the dirty money surrounding jailed GOP lobbyist Jack Abramoff, the financial strings that dangle from John McCain to the Rothschilds and the hedge funds contrivances, the downfall of New York Governor Eliot Spitzer, the political prosecution of Alabama Governor Don Siegelman, or the profiteering from the Iraq war and occupation, the Russian-Israel mob syndicate appears over and over again.   ....  Soros' hired journalist guns were apparently quite incensed over WMR's reportage on a fundraiser held in London for John McCain by Lord Jacob and Nathaniel Rothschild. WMR cited the fundraiser as a violation of U.S. election laws. The Rothschilds were not happy with the spotlight and neither was Soros and his affiliates, all of whom provide a convenient nexus between some so-called "progressives" and the meeting rooms of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), the Davos crowd, and the Bilderberg organization. Soros has been a director of the CFR. Small world.  ...   What Soros has managed to accomplish is permit the progressive Left a lot of wiggle room, as long as it does not target his favorite international financial constructs, including the Rothschild family interests and the cause of the Russian oligarchic tycoons, who after looting the Soviet and Russian Treasuries, now plan for the overthrow of the Russian government from comfortable exile in Britain, Israel, Ukraine, and the United States. The exiled Russian oligarchs have established an "iron alliance" with the neo-cons in Washington and New York, as well as Soros' Open Society Foundation and Institute, to help Eastern European and Central Asian former Communist countries to transform themselves into "democracies." In reality, what Soros and his friends have accomplished is to transform nations like Poland, the Czech Republic, the Baltic states, Georgia, Ukraine, and others into vassal states of NATO, the World Bank, and predatory vultures like the Rothschilds, the Rockefellers, the billionaire investors in the Carlyle Group, and subservient politicians ranging from Tony Blair and John Major to the Bushes, Nicolas Sarkozy, Stephen Harper, and Angela Merkel. In fact, Soros is an investor in the Carlyle Group. Small world.   more search terms: perception management, themed revolution, Orange Revolution, Rose Revolution, Tulip, Kyrgyzstan, NATO, hosting military bases, privitazation of public highways, bridges, water, toll roads,  speculators, money laundering, Malaysian PM Mahathir Mohamed, wiped billions from their economy,  The rise of Hugo Chavez in Venezuela, the Kirchners in Argentina, Morales in Bolivia, Correa in Ecuador, Lugo in Paraguay and other progressive leftists was in reaction to the vulture capitalism practiced on the continent by Soros and his gang of global bankers and billionaire speculators.  Soros funded: Center for American Progress, MoveOn.org, America Coming Together, McKinney, Gravel not invited ...   Harken Energy (partly owned by Soros) bought Spectrum 7, Salem Bin Laden early investor in Arbusto Energy (Bush).  International Crisis Group, interfering in domestic affairs, Kosovo; Islamabad; Belgrade, Sarajevo; Pretoria; Nairobi; Kabul; Osh; and Tbilisi

There is one person who owes his business survival to Soros. In 1986, after George W. Bush's oil company Spectrum 7 went belly-up, Harken Energy bought it. Harken was partly owned by Soros. An earlier investor in Spectrum 7's predecessor, Arbusto Energy, was Salem Bin Laden, older brother of Osama Bin Laden. Small world.

The globalists used contrivances like the International Crisis Group (ICG) to interfere in the domestic affairs of other countries. The ICG maintains offices in Pristina, the capital of breakaway Serbian province Kosovo; Islamabad; Belgrade, Sarajevo; Pretoria; Nairobi; Kabul; Osh; and Tbilisi -- either the ICG is present in these cities to end unrest or promote it. Among the board members of the ICG are neocon extraordinaire Kenneth Adelman; Bill Clinton's deep pocketed donor Frank Giustra of Canada; and Hillary Clinton's favorite general Wesley Clark. Also on the board is George Soros. Small world.  UPDATE 1: Right on cue, Soros-funded MoveOn.org said on May 31 that former Bush White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan should donate all proceeds from his tell-all book to veterans of the Afghanistan and Iraq wars. MoveOn.org does not say anything about General Wesley Clark donating his book proceeds to the victims of his deadly bombardment of Belgrade. McClellan will never be quite as taken care of by Soros' pals as has been Clark. Just another example of Soros controlling the message.

  • Food First "But then confusing economic demand with actual availability, the Times jumps to a dubious solution. Quoting World Bank president Robert Zoellick, the paper calls for “[A] ‘green revolution’ to increase farm productivity and raise crop yields in Africa.” This was of course, a likely response from the World Bank, the institution that, along with the International Monetary Fund, forcibly applied the Structural Adjustment Programs (SAPs) responsible for destroying the capacity of African nations to develop or protect their own domestic agricultural systems from the dumping of subsidized grain from the U.S. and Europe. Over the same 25 years in which SAPs were being implemented, the Consultative Group for International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) invested over 40% if its $350 million/year budget in Africa’s “Green Revolution.” The result? A big zero. Actually, it was worse, because as African marketing boards, agricultural ministries, national research programs and basic infrastructure fell under the scythe of the mighty SAPs, Africa’s agricultural systems steadily eroded. For folks with bigger ambitions - like 'equality' - if US per capita income were to grow no more than 3% annually, it would take less than FOUR CENTURIES for Ethiopian per capita income to equal ours if theirs doubled annually. At least we're doing our part. It takes more than talk of a 'global village' - or fair labor standards' trickle-down - to raise children's CHANCES (not even standard) of living in 'developing' countries. "
